Serving Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
Welcome to the Alger Marquette affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Alger Marquette). We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons and their families affected by mental illness. NAMI strives to achieve its mission through support, education, advocacy and research.
Serving Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.
NAMI Support Groups are free, peer-led support groups for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition, and family members of those adults. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there. In-person support groups are held the second Monday and third Thursday of each month, from 7pm to 9pm. Zoom support groups are held once each month. Please see the “Groups & Meetings” page for more information.
Monthly education meetings offer opportunities to hear from local mental health experts and organizations that provide resources and support for persons diagnosed with a mental illness, and their friends. Education meetings are held the last Monday evening of most months.
There are no upcoming events at this time.
