Volunteer opportunities

Do you have a desire to help others and are looking for meaningful volunteer work? Below is an example of a volunteer role with NAMI Alger Marquette.

Please contact us at 906-360-7107 or ckbertucci58@charter.net for more information.

  • SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATOR.  Our support group facilitators are caring individuals with a serious mental illness, or have a loved one with a serious mental illness.  Volunteers for this role must be considerate, professional and at times assertive. Estimated volunteer hours per month is 2.  Candidates will be required to regularly attend support group prior to being considered for this very special volunteer role.
Invite us to be at your event

We are friendly people who like to help others who many times don’t know where to turn.  Our volunteers are available as a resource for your event.  Examples of events we regularly attend as a resource are Pathways Community Mental Health Walk-A-Mile, various health fairs like Northern Michigan University’s Wildcat Wellness Health Fair, Great Lakes Recovery’s West End Suicide Prevention, school resource nights, and other similar community events.

Invite us to present at your organization’s meeting

We have several dedicated and knowledgeable professionals ready to introduce NAMI Alger Marquette to your organization.  Our goal is to promote NAMI Alger Marquette so we can serve more families impacted by mental illness.  The best way to do this is by getting in front of people to talk about our evidence-based programs and support groups.  We have presented to Rotary clubs, Northern Michigan University Military Science cadets, churches, schools, and hospitals.
